All Library Board of Trustees meetings will take place at the Polk County Public Library meeting room at 4:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of every other month, unless a change in the meeting schedule is announced by the Chairperson of the Board. All meetings are open to the public. The Secretary is responsible for providing via mail a copy of Board minutes at least one week prior to the scheduled Board meeting. The Minutes include a reminder at the top of page one as to the date, time and location of the upcoming Board meeting.

Anyone interested in adding his or her name to a pool of applicants for Library Board vacancies should complete the online Application for Appointment to Volunteer Board. All applications on file are considered by the Board of County Commissioners whenever board vacancies occur. Terms are for three years. Current Board members interested in serving a second term must reapply for the position. No Board member may serve for more than six consecutive years. Board vacancies are announced in local newspapers.
